Tend, operated by Sam Slesinger ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices when you use our service or receive a scheduling link from someone who does.
Information We Collect
We collect only the minimum information necessary to operate the service:
- Your first name.
- Your phone number.
- The first name and last initial of your contacts.
We do not collect last names, email addresses, payment details, or other personal identifiers. We may also process limited technical and usage data (such as message delivery confirmations and error logs) to operate and improve the service.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely to provide and maintain the SMS messaging service, including to:
- Send and deliver SMS messages
- Manage opt-in, opt-out, and consent status
- Monitor performance and prevent abuse
We do not use your information for targeted advertising or unrelated marketing.
Website Analytics
Our website (tendsms.com) uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic, such as how many people visit, which pages they view, and which sites refer them. Cloudflare Web Analytics is privacy-first: it does not use cookies or other client-side storage, does not fingerprint visitors, and does not collect personal data or track you across other sites. We use it only to measure our site's reach and improve how we describe the service.
Information About Non-Users
When you use Tend's scheduling feature, you can send a link to someone you'd like to meet up with. Here's what that means for the person who opens it:
- What we store about them: their first name and last initial, as you entered it. This information is not displayed to them on the scheduling page.
- What we collect from them: only which time they chose (or that none of the times worked). We don't collect their phone number, email, or any other personal information.
- Server logs: like any website, our servers transiently log technical data (such as IP address and browser type) when someone visits the scheduling page. This data is used only for security and abuse prevention and is not linked to their identity.
- How we use it: solely to book the meet-up for you and let you both know the plan. Tend never contacts the person who opened the link.
- How long we keep it: the scheduling data is deleted when the plan expires, or when you remove the contact from your account.
- Questions or removal requests: a privacy link on every scheduling page points here. If someone received a Tend scheduling link and wants to know what data we hold about them, or wants it removed, they can reach us at hello@tendsms.com.
Sharing of Your Information
We do not sell or share mobile numbers, consent status, or SMS opt-in data with third parties or affiliates for marketing. Mobile information is used only to deliver the messaging program and may be shared with service providers solely to provide that service (for example, SMS delivery partners).
Data Security
We implement reasonable safeguards to protect the limited personal information we collect. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Message Frequency & Data Rates
Message frequency varies based on the number of contacts you add, approximately 2 messages per contact every 2 weeks. Message and data rates may apply. To opt out, reply STOP to any message.
Your Choices and Rights
- Opt-Out: You may opt out at any time by responding “STOP” or "UNSUBSCRIBE" to any SMS.
- Support: You may delete your data at any time by contacting us at hello@tendsms.com.
Children’s Privacy
Our service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If we become aware of such collection, we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Effective Date” above and post the new version on this page.
